Remove bleeder valve (1) from brake caliper (2), added

Step 1

Install pressure tester with test connection to brake caliper (2) added

Step 2

Checking

Danger!

Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury caused by brake fluid coming into contact with skin and eyes.

Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid.

1

Remove bleed valve (1) from brake caliper (2) added

2

Install pressure tester (2) with test connection to brake caliper

Pressure testers for hydraulic fluid systems must not be used for systems with brake fluid, otherwise brake fluid may be mixed with mineral oil which may cause the brakes to fail.

3

Set ALB controller to full load position

This ensures full brake pressure is achieved.

High-pressure check

4

Press down brake pedal using brake pedal jack

Press brake pedal until pressure gauge displays test pressure. The pressure must not drop more than 10 % below the set value for the duration of the test.
If a higher pressure drop is detected the leak point must be sought and defective parts replaced.

*BE42.50-N-1002-01D

If brake fluid loss is not visible externally, check seal between master brake cylinder and diaphragm cylinder.

Low-pressure testing

5

Press down brake pedal using brake pedal jack

Press brake pedal until pressure gauge displays test pressure. The line pressure must not drop for the duration of the test.
If a pressure drop is detected, find the leakage point and replace the damaged parts.
