Check

Danger

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

Caution

Risk of poisoning from swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury from skin and eye contact with brake fluid

Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid.

1

Deactivate easy entry/exit feature for driver's seat

On vehicles with memory package (driver's seat, steering column, mirrors) code 275

AR54.30-P-1000-02EDV

With the easy entry/exit feature activated, the driver's seat and steering wheel will move to a different position when the driver's door is opened or closed.
With the brake pedal jack (080) installed, this can cause damage to the driver's seat.

2

Hoist vehicle with lifting platform until wheels are free

AR00.60-P-1000V

3

Remove bleed screw from brake caliper and connect pressure tester (051)

Use only pressure testers for brake systems. Pressure testers for hydraulic fluid systems must not be used for systems with brake fluid,
otherwise the brake fluid will be mixed with hydraulic fluid. This will lead to failure of the brake system!

After the leak test, only bleed the brake caliper to which the pressure tester (051) was connected.

Bleed pressure tester (051)

Measure using pointer device

5

Allow the engine to run at moderate speed and release the accelerator pedal suddenly

This will generate the greatest possible vacuum.

6

Mount brake pedal jack (080) with adapter for brake pedal jack between driver's seat and brake pedal

Protect the brake pedal and driver seat from damage.

7

Depress brake pedal with brake pedal jack (080) as far as possible

8

Check pressure drop

The pressure is allowed to drop by max. 5% within 5 minutes.

Measure using pointer device

9

Switch off engine and depress brake pedal several times

In order to reduce vacuum in brake booster.

10

Depress brake pedal with brake pedal jack (080) until manometer of pressure tester (051) shows a line pressure of approx. 3 bar

Danger

Risk of death caused by limbs being caught or crushed by rotating parts when performing tests on the brake test stand

Never leave the vehicle unattended on the rollers except in an emergency. Ensure that no one is under the vehicle or near rotating parts during testing. In case of emergency, use the EMERGENCY OFF switch to shut down test stand.
