Remove/install

Remove front axle brake caliper

 Remove all brake calipers of relevant axle halves.

Remove sleeve of tire pressure control system

Only with code (A30) Tire pressure control system (tire control)

Undo bolts (1, 2) of wheel hub (3) and brake disk (4)

 Counterhold wheel hub (3) using a suitable tool.

 Installation: Tighten in a crosswise pattern.

Remove two opposite bolts (1) of the wheel hub (3) and screw in assembly mandrels



Undo the remaining bolts (1) of the wheel hub (3)

Remove wheel hub (3) and brake disk (4)

Remove bolts (2) of brake disk (4) and remove wheel hub (3)

Check radial-shaft sealing rings of driven gear for leaktightness and damage, if necessary replace radial shaft sealing rings of output gear

 One of the radial shaft sealing rings has an additional dust lip. The seal with the extra dust lip should be installed on the outside. Coat radial shaft seal rings with long-life grease.



Check brake disk thickness and condition of brake disks (4)

Install in the reverse order

Check hub reduction gear oil level, correct if necessary

 Only if the sealing ring of the output gear was replaced.
