Remove/install

Shift transmission into neutral or idle position.

Remove center and rear lower engine compartment lining.

Mark position of front axle differential propeller shaft (1) relative to front axle differential (4) and transfer case (5).

Unscrew bolts (2).

 Model 470, 471 with engine 642
The second person is required to operate the service brake.

 Model 470, 471 with engine 699
Installation: Replace screws (2) and nuts.

Unscrew bolts (3).

The second person is required to operate the service brake.

Remove front axle differential propeller shaft (1) downwards.



Check

Check front axle differential propeller shaft (1) and boots for wear and damage.

If the front axle differential propeller shaft (1) is worn or damaged.



Replace front axle differential propeller shaft (1).

Install in the reverse order.
