Remove bonded wheel balance weights using removal tool


Do not use hard, pointed or sharp-edged tools
to avoid damaging the surface of the disk wheel (5).

Remove tires (1) and support ring (4)

In order to prevent damage, perform work on tire (1) and support ring (4) with the prescribed tools only.
Observe manufacturer's operating instructions.

Check

Check tire (1) and support ring (4) for damage

 Check tire (1) for visible cord points. Check support ring (4) for tearing, pressure marks or deformation at the bars.

Check TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5), valve body (3) and shoulder seal (3s, only up to 08/2004) in installed condition for damage

Vehicles with code (475) tire pressure monitor (Beru)


Do not remove TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5). Do not retighten screw (3a) and union nut (2).
Otherwise the TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5) will be damaged.

 Replace all components if the screw (3a) or union nut (2) of the TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5) is visibly loose.

Replace the TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5) if there is visible damage and after using TIREFIT tire sealant:



Remove/install tire pressure sensor.

When doing so, observe tightening torque values for different gasket versions:



Seal of valve body changed.



Clean

Clean TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5)

Vehicles with code (475) tire pressure monitor (Siemens)


Only remove dirt with a clean, lint-free cloth. Do not use compressed air, solvents or cleaners.
Otherwise the TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5) will be damaged.


