1 | Remove wheel hub | ||
2 | Detach tie rod (21) from steering knuckle (10) | ||
3 | Remove steering damper (20) from steering knuckle (10) | ||
4 | Remove lower cover (15) and remove seal (14) | ||
5 | Remove upper cover (2) and remove O-ring (3) | ||
6 | Release bolt (6) and remove clamp nut (4) | ||
7 | Remove locking pin (7) and remove washer (8) from clamp nut (4) | ||
8 | Remove plastic washer (9) | ||
9 | Remove kingpin (13) downwards | Hydraulic press | |
10 | Remove steering knuckle (10) and O-ring (12) | ||
| Install | ||
11 | Grease new O-ring (12) and install over lower bearing bushing in steering knuckle (10) | Long-life grease | |
12 | Position steering knuckle (10) at axle housing (11) and press-in kingpin (13) from bottom upwards | Ensure O-ring (12) is correctly seated while doing so. | |
Hydraulic press | |||
13 | Grease and install plastic washer (9) | Long-life grease | |
14 | Grease underside of washer (8) and install with locking pin (7) on clamp nut (4) so that the chamfer on the washer (8) faces away from the clamp nut (4) | Long-life grease | |
15 | Slowly tighten clamp nut (4) far enough until axial play at the steering knuckle (10) is no longer noticeable | ||
16 | Tighten bolt (6) on clamp nut (4) | Bolt to clamping nut | |
17 | Install upper cover (2) with greased new O-ring (3) | Long-life grease | |
18 | Clean sealing surfaces on steering knuckle (10) and lower cover (15) | ||
19 | Install lower cover (15) with new seal (14) in steering knuckle (10) | Bolt, cover at bottom to steering knuckle | |
20 | Mount steering damper (20) onto steering knuckle (10) | Nut, steering damper to steering knuckle/axle housing | |
21 | Mount tie rod (21) onto steering knuckle (10) | Nut, tie rod to steering knuckle | |
22 | Lubricate steering knuckle bearing | Long-life grease | |
23 | Install wheel hub |
