Removing

Remove wheels

Remove brake carrier with brake caliper

Remove ABS sensor

Remove cover (9)

Release and unscrew outer slotted nut (7)



Unscrew locking plate (6) and unscrew inner slotted nut (5)



Remove wheel hub (3) and outer tapered roller bearing (4)

 Secure wheel hub with suitable lifting equipment.

Remove ABS measuring ring

Remove radial seal (2)

Check thrust ring (1) for damage and galling

 If necessary, replace thrust ring

coat seat surface of thrust ring with sealant.

Install

Install new radial sealing ring (2)

 Coat circumference of radial seals without rubberized external surface with sealant.

Install ABS measuring ring

Push wheel hub (3) onto steering knuckle

 Take care to avoid damaging the oil seal's peripheral contact surface.

Install outer tapered roller bearing (4)

Tighten inner slotted nut (5)



 When tightening, spin wheel hub (3) and tap wheel hub a few times with a rubber mallet in a cross pattern.

Loosen inner slotted nut and tighten until it abuts with the outer tapered roller bearing with zero clearance. Then loosen inner slotted nut 45°.

Insert new, slightly oiled lock plate (6) and tighten outer slotted nut (7)



 The locking pin of the locking plate must face outwards.

Check and adjust wheel bearing play

Secure outer slotted nut (7)

 By knocking the locking plate (6) into convenient slots in the inner and outer slotted nuts.

Install cap (9)



 Use new gasket (8) and bolts (10).
