1 | Remove differential assembly. | ||
2 | Unscrew bolt (11) from the cover (9) | ||
3 | Remove cover (9) | Mark installation position of cover (9) to axle housing and unscrew bolts (10) . | |
4 | Remove shift piston (6) | Screw one of the bolts (10) into the shift piston and pull out shift piston (6) with the adjusting disk (5) if necessary. | |
5 | Check cylinder liner (4) | Remove cylinder liner (4) if damaged. | |
6 | Remove shift sleeve (1) from shift fork (3) | ||
7 | Remove shift fork (3) and compression spring (2) from axle housing | Compression spring (2) is under tension. | |
| Install | ||
8 | Install cylinder liner (4) | Only if the cylinder lining (4) has been removed. | |
Coat cylinder liner (4) with synthetic grease. | |||
9 | Install shift fork (3) and push spring (2) in the differential assembly | ||
10 | Attach new O-ring (7) and adjusting disk (5) in shift piston (6) | ||
11 | Install shift piston (6) with adjusting washer (5) | Align shift fork (3) and compression spring (2) to hole for shift piston (6) in differential assembly if necessary. | |
12 | Attach cover (9) with new gasket (8) | Observe installation position (raised bead of seal (8) to cover (9) and mark of cover (9) to axle housing). | |

13 | Insert shift collar (1) into shift fork (3) | ||
14 | Screw bolt (11) all the way into cover (9) | Bring the gearing of the shift collar (1) and dog clutch into contact while doing so. The differential lock is locked mechanically as a result. | |
15 | Check and adjust axial play of interwheel differential lock shift sleeve | ||
