Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove

Remove drive flange at drive pinion.

Remove radial shaft sealing ring (1).


Carefully remove radial shaft sealing ring (1).
Otherwise, the seat of the radial shaft sealing ring (1) at the rear axle differential will be damaged.

 Dispose of radial shaft sealing ring (1).

Clean

Clean seat of radial shaft sealing ring (1).

Assembly cleaner

Check

Check seat of radial shaft sealing ring (1) on rear axle differential (2) for damage and galling.

If a corresponding finding is present.



Replace rear axle differential(2).

Install

Apply coating of grease to sealing and dust lip of new radial shaft sealing ring (1).
