Remove wheels

Support vehicle on its frame

Remove ABS sensor

Disconnect compressed-air lines (2) from combination cylinder

With compressed air connection system "VOSS 230".

With compressed air connection system "VOSS 232" (NG 8, 12) or "SCHÄFER SDF" (NG 6).

Installation: Check O-rings and replace if necessary.

Disconnect sensor line connector (3) of brake wear sensors

Sensor lines without plug connection - remove plug (4) directly at brake wear sensor.

Unplug connector (6) and compressed-air line (5) from differential lock

Remove plug (7) from rear axle temperature sensor

Only on vehicles with maintenance system (WS).

Disconnect vent line (1) from axle housing

Detach ALB linkage (8)

Detach compressed air distributor from axle housing

Do not disconnect lines.

Detach lines and wiring harnesses fastened to the axle housing and tie to one side with the compressed air distributor

Remove stabilizer

Remove shock absorber

Only detach propeller shaft at rear axle drive flange

Secure propeller shaft to prevent it from falling.

Detach wishbone control arm (16) from link bracket (17) on axle housing and secure to prevent it from falling

Detach trailing arm (14) from link brackets (15) under axle housing

Raise rear axle until leaf springs (9) are unloaded and secure axle to prevent it falling

Use a jack or inspection pit lift.

Detach link bracket (15) with spherical washers (11) on right and left of the axle housing and remove mounting plates (10)

Installation: Replace bolts (13) and install with spherical washers (11). Install the longer bolts at the shock absorber end.

Lower the rear axle and pull out backwards under the vehicle

Install in the reverse order
