Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove

Remove hubcap

Detach front wheel or front wheels

Remove plastic lid in the centering point of the light alloy wheel

Mount front wheel(s)

MODEL 639 with CODE RL5 (Light alloy wheels 6.5 J x 16) MODEL 639 with CODE RL8 (Light alloy wheels 7 J x 17)

 Two wheel bolts are sufficient.

Loosen collar nut of front axle shaft (1)

The vehicle may no longer be moved with a loosened collar nut.
This avoids damage to the wheel bearing.

 The vehicle must be in contact with the ground.

Detach front wheel or front wheels

Unscrew collar nut of front axle shaft (1)

Remove front axle shaft (1) from front axle transmission

 To do so, mark installation position and remove bolts (2).

Remove transverse control arm (3) from steering knuckle

Remove front axle shaft (1) from wheel hub

 Extraction and insertion tool

Install

Install front axle shaft (1) in wheel hub

 Lightly grease teeth of front axle shaft (1).

Long-life grease

Screw on collar nut of front axle shaft (1)

 Replace collar nut.

Install transverse control arm (3) in steering knuckle

Fit front axle shaft (1) to front axle gear

 Observe installation position, lightly coat bolts (2) with thread locking agent.

 Bolt, front axle shaft to front axle gear

Mount front wheel or front wheels

Tighten and secure collar nut of the front axle shaft (1)

 The vehicle must be in contact with the ground.
