| Screw on support bridge. If required, drill out bores for supporting bolts to approx. 11 to 12 mm dia. or rework as elongated hole.

| Take out tapered roller bearing (5) and compression ring (8)

| Checking

| Clean parts, check and replace if necessary
| Disassemble drive pinion (4) if necessary.
Disassembly or assembly takes place analog to the rear axle method:

| Install drive pinion (4)
| Screw support bridge onto axle housing and fit spindle to drive pinion (4)

| Insert compression ring (8)
| Always replace strain ring (8).

| Drive in tapered roller bearing (5) using suitable sleeve
|
|
|

| Install radial sealing rings (6) on drive pinion (4)
| Replace all gaskets.
