Disassemble

Remove wheel hub (6)

Remove outer races (4, 7) from wheel hub (6)

 Puller

Remove oil retainer (5) from wheel hub (6)

Drive wheel stud (8) out of wheel hub (6)

Pull wire ring (11) out of planetary hub gear (9) and remove carrier (10)

Remove brake carrier

Detach tapered roller bearing (3) from axle stub (1)


The puller must be supported on the axle spindle (1) using the  thrust piece.
Supporting the puller directly on the drive shaft can damage the universal joint of the drive shaft.

Assemble

Heat tapered roller bearing (3) to approx. 80 °C and install on axle stub (1) until it abuts

Install brake carrier

Drive wheel stud (8) into wheel hub (6)

 The flat side of the head of the wheel stud (8) must lie against the inside of the housing of the wheel hub (6).

Install oil retainer (5) in wheel hub (6)

 Install the oil retainer (5) with the flat side facing inwards.

Heat wheel hub (6) in area of outer races (4, 7) to approx. 80 °C and install outer races (4, 7) until they abut

 Drive home the outer races (4, 7) using a drift if necessary.

Insert carrier (10) into planetary hub gear (9) and push in wire ring (11)

Install wheel hub (6)
