Remove front wheel

Remove front springs

Detach torsion bar link rod (28a) from transverse control arm



Unscrew nut from supporting joint



Screw thrust piece (044a) onto the ball stud of the supporting joint



Press supporting joint out of steering knuckle using puller (044)



 Clean conical joint

Detach damper (11) from transverse control arm



Detach lower control arm from frame floor assembly

 Installation: Tighten new nuts until they abut lightly

  Tighten the nuts only when the vehicle is standing on its wheels in ready-for-operation condition.

 Installation: Install repair bolts. If repair bolts have already been installed, observe installation position and install bolts in the same position again.

Unscrew nut of supporting joint to transverse control arm



Screw thrust piece (044a) onto the ball stud of the supporting joint



Using puller (044), press supporting joint out of the lower control arm



 Clean conical joint

Checking

Check hydro-mount for condition and leaktightness

 In the event of complaints, replace transverse control arm mount completely

Check transverse control arm for bending and corrosion

 In the event of complaints, replace transverse control arm

14

Install in the reverse order

15

Perform a wheel alignment check

After installing new parts
