1

Pull dipstick out of expansion reservoir (3) and check color of hydraulic fluid.

Absolute cleanliness must be maintained throughout the entire procedure.
Otherwise even minute particles of dirt can lead to a total failure or malfunctions in the ABC system.

This work procedure must be maintained at all times.
Failure to observe this point can lead to damage or total failure of the ABC system.

With the hydraulic fluid cooling down and after the engine has been switched off, the body lowers.

If red hydraulic fluid (ATF) is present,

replace red hydraulic fluid (ATF) with green hydraulic fluid (Pentosin) and completely flush out ABC system.

11

Screw cap (2) securely onto expansion reservoir (3).

Make sure that the cover (2) is seated correctly on the expansion reservoir (3).

12

Close hood.

Make absolutely sure to close the engine hood.
Otherwise, the engine hood and/or the hinges may be damaged because of vehicle movement when filtering.

13

Start filtering; to do so, connect vehicle diagnosis system, select "Actuate all suspension struts alternately in circular sequence (rodeo)" in Suspension menu and start program.

AD00.00-P-2000-04A

The program takes approx. 15 min and must then be started again since the hydraulic fluid is only filtered correctly after 30 min.

Owing to the increased volume requirement, there may be brief interruptions during the program run until the pressure has been fully built up again by the tandem pump. There is no fault in the tandem pump.

14

Open hood.

15
