Clamp tensioning device in the vise and insert clamping plates

Insert suspension strut (11) into tensioning device

 Attach clamping plates so that at least three windings of the spring (12) are tensioned.

Clamp spring (12) until the spring cup (12a) is relieved of load

 Installation: The spring cup (12a) must make correct contact with the end of the spring (12).

Remove cap

Unscrew nut for spring clamp plate (11a)

 With model 636 and model 639 with CODE XZ1 (Model generation 1) use internal TORX T50 and socket wrench 19 mm.

Remove shim (11d)

Pull down rubber mount (11e)

 Installation: Check rubber mount (11e) is correctly seated.

Remove shim (11f)

Detach spring cup (12a)

 Installation: Check spring (12) and spring cup (12a) are correctly seated.

Remove boot (11g)

Do not separate boot (11g) and guide bearing.
Otherwise the boot (11g) and the guide bearing will be damaged.

 Installation: Check boot (11g) is correctly seated.

Remove end stop (11h)

 Installation: Check end stop (11h) is correctly seated.

Remove suspension strut (11)

 Installation: The end of the spring (12) must make correct contact with the lower spring cup.

Dispose of suspension strut correctly
