Remove/install

Remove rear wheel.

Remove cover from spring link (6).

Unfasten fender liner in rear fender in area of shock absorber (4).

Disconnect electrical connectors (9) and place lines to one side.

Unscrew nut (5).

 Self-locking nut, shock absorber to spring control arm

Support spring link (6) with a suitable hydraulic lifting device and remove bolt from spring link (6).

Unscrew screws (7).

 Bolt, shock absorber to body

Push shock absorber (4) together and remove.

 Installation: Ensure that the cutouts (arrows a) in suspension strut mount (12) match with the elevations (arrows b) in the body.



Check

Check shock absorber (4) for damage and leakage.

If the shock absorber (4) is damaged,



replace shock absorber (4).

Check suspension strut mount (12) and seal (13).

If the suspension strut mount (12) or the seal (13) are damaged,



replace suspension strut mount (12).
