Remove/install

1

Secure vehicle at front axle using chocks to prevent it from rolling away.

Raise vehicle at rear axle and jack up at vehicle frame.

Remove wheels.

Raise rear axle far enough to relieve leaf spring (3).

Unscrew nuts (10) from spring U-bolts (1) of rear axle.

Press link bracket (9) of trailing arm downward.

Remove both spring U-bolts (1) and take off spring seat (2).

Remove nut (14) from fixed bearing (13) and nut (6) from floating bearing (7).

 Nut, rear axle spring to fixed/floating bearing

Remove screw (11) with sleeve (12) of fixed bearing (13) and screw (4) with sleeve (5) of floating bearing (7).



Long-life grease (NLGI grade 2)

 Installation: Note the different lengths of the sleeves (5, 12).
The sleeve (5) of the floating bearing (7) is 1.0 mm longer than the sleeve (12) of the fixed bearing (13).
Grease sleeves (5, 12) and screws (4, 11) and tighten.

Lower rear axle and remove leaf spring (3).



Long-life grease (NLGI grade 2)

 Installation: Grease leaf spring (3) in area of seats on floating bearing (7) and on fixed bearing (13).
When raising the trailing axle, make sure that the center bolt engages in the mounting hole in the spring support (8).

Remove spring support (8) from rear axle.



Long-life grease (NLGI grade 2)

 Installation: Lightly grease the mounting hole for the center bolt in the spring support (8).

Install in the reverse order
