Align vehicle for checking the collision warning system radar sensor (B162) correctly at the headlamp beam setting location and bring into the ready-to-drive condition.



Correct tire pressure.



Correct tire pressure, including spare wheel

Set up the adjustment device (2) at a distance of 2 m to the wheel center in front of the vehicle.



Place adjustment device (2) centrally at the collision warning system radar sensor (B162).

Align adjustment device (2) with a cross line laser (3) at a right angle to the vehicle.

If a cross line laser is available.

Align the adjustment device (2) parallel to the guide rail of the headlamp adjuster.

If no cross line laser is available.



Align adjustment device (2) vertically and horizontally.

Remove all unneeded objects in the area 2 m in front of the vehicle and 1.5 m to the left and right of the vehicle.

Connect vehicle diagnosis system and determine measurement values.



If the values lie outside of the tolerance,



Check collision warning system radar sensor (B162) and mount for damage and deformation.

If deformation or damage are present,



Replace collision warning system radar sensor (B162) or bracket of the collision warning system radar sensor (B162).
