1 | Remove selector lever handle with covering | ||
2 | Remove center console | ||
3 | Remove paneling on center console | ||
4 | Disconnect electrical connector (9) from electronic selector lever module control unit (N15/5) | ||
5 | Unscrew screws (6) and slide selector lever with bearing bracket (5) downwards out of guide | ||
6 | Use suitable tool to unclip shift cable ball socket (1) from ball head (3) on selector lever with bearing bracket (5) | ||
7 | Use suitable tool to pry shift cable (2) out of selector lever with bearing bracket (5) | ||
8 | Detach ignition lock cable from selector lever with bearing bracket (5) | To do so, press catch tab (8) together, push connector coupling (7) in direction of arrow, turn through 90° (to left or right) and detach opposite direction of arrow. | |
9 | Remove selector lever with bearing bracket (5) | ||

10 | Insert adjustment tool into shift cable (2) | ||

11 | Install ignition lock cable on selector lever with bearing bracket (5) | Insert ignition lock cable into selector lever with bearing bracket (5) and turn through 90° (to left or right). Make sure that ignition lock cable is seated correctly. | |
12 | Clip shift cable ball socket (1) into ball head (3) on selector lever with bearing bracket (5) | Grease ball head (3) and shift cable ball socket (1). | |

13 | Guide shift cable (2) into selector lever with bearing bracket (5) and fix in place | Replace lock washer (4). | |
Make sure shift cable (2) is correctly seated. | |||
14 | Insert selector lever with bearing bracket (5) from below into guide and tighten screws (6) | Apply thread locking compound to thread of screws (6). | |
