Remove/install oil lines of oil cooling for automatic transmission

Remove bottom engine compartment paneling

Model 172.4 with gasoline engine

Remove bottom section of soundproofing

Model 172.4 with diesel engine

Remove left exhaust pipe bracket (3)

When removing the left oil cooling line (1).



Remove bolt (9) securing steering oil line (8) and lower steering oil line (8)

With engine 276

When removing right oil cooling line (2).

Lower rack-and-pinion steering

With engine 651

Remove bolts (4.1) of clamps (4)



Remove bolt (5) of left oil cooling line (1) and right oil cooling line (2)



Pull left oil cooling line (1) and right oil cooling line (2) out of transmission

 Collect escaping transmission oil in a suitable container and seal off line connections with  plugs.

 Installation: Install new O-ring.

 Set of stop plugs

Unclip left oil cooling line (1) and right oil cooling line (2) from bracket (6)

Disconnect left oil cooling line (1) and right oil cooling line (2) from transmission oil heat exchanger (7)

 Collect escaping transmission oil in a suitable container and seal off line connections with  plugs.

Guide left oil cooling line (1) out between front axle and lower engine oil pan

 When guiding out, do not kink or bend the left oil cooling line (1). Leaks can otherwise occur.

Guide right oil cooling line (2) out of exhaust gas bracket and guide out between front axle and lower engine oil pan

 When guiding out, do not kink or bend the right oil cooling line (2). Leaks can otherwise occur.

Install in the reverse order

Check transmission oil level and correct if necessary
