Remove/install oil filler pipe for automatic transmission

Remove/install

 Danger!

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

Remove bolt (5)



Remove bottom engine compartment paneling

Only on model 639.701/703/705/711/713/

Perform 811/813/815 from vehicle identification number 055347.

Remove bolts (2)



Loosen bolt (4)



Push oil filler pipe (1) upwards out of the transmission housing.

 Clean oil filler pipe (1) and transmission housing in area of transmission opening before removal, to avoid damage to the automatic transmission.

 Seal opening on transmission housing.

 Installation: Replace sealing ring (3).

 Set of stop plugs

Remove oil filler pipe (1) downwards

 Installation: The oil filler pipe (1) must be mounted free of tension.

 If the sealing ring (3) or oil filler pipe (1) is replaced due to leaks:



Inspect ATF level in automatic transmission, add ATF if necessary

Install in the reverse order



 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
