1 | Detach compressed-air lines from 3/2-way valve | Installation: Check O-rings and replace if necessary. | |

2 | Detach connector (11) from shift housing (7). | ||
3 | Detach neutral switch (S9) | ||
4 | Fix reverse gear shift rail | This prevents the reverse gear shift rail from sliding out of place. | |
Installation: Remove the setscrew and install the backup lamp switch: | |||

5 | Remove lock rod for interlock | ||
6 | Remove cover (1) from shift housing (7) | Install: Replace gasket (2). | |
7 | Remove cap (5) from shift housing (7). | Installation: Install new end cover (5). Coat end cover (5) with adhesive sealant prior to installation. | |
8 | Heat grub screw (6) with hot air gun and unscrew it from the shift housing (7) | Installation: Coat grub screw (6) with adhesive sealant and screw it in. | |

9 | Pull shift segment (3) off shift shaft | Mark installed position. | |
10 | Detach circlip from the shift shaft | ||
11 | Remove shift housing (7) | Installation: Clean sealing surfaces and coat with sealant. | |
12 | Remove shim (8) and O-rings (10) from shift housing (7). | Installation: install new O-rings (10). | |
13 | Detach shift shaft with bearing cover (9) | Installation: Coat longitudinal splines of shift mechanism with long-term grease. Clean sealing surfaces and coat with sealant. | |
14 | Remove O-ring (12) on the shift shaft | ||
15 | Check needle bearing in front section of transmission housing for wear and damage | If wear or damage present: | |
Install new needle roller bearing in front section of transmission housing. | |||
16 | Install in the reverse order |
