Remove

Remove countershaft brake (VGW-B).

Remove circlip (8)

Remove washer (7).

Remove inner plates (6) and outer plates (5).

Remove piston (4) from housing (1).

Detach sealing rings (2) and support ring (3) from piston (4).

Check

Check inner plates (6) for wear.

Reference dimension of countershaft brake internal plate

If wear is detected,

Replace internal plates (6).

Install

Attach new sealing rings (2) and new support ring (3) to piston (4).

Insert sealing rings (2) and support ring (3) with grease. Observe installation position (A) of sealing rings (2).

Synthetic grease 50 g

Install piston (4) into housing (1).

Soak inner plates (6) in transmission oil.

Only when replacing the inner plates (6).

Soak inner plates (6) for 10 h in transmission oil at room temperature or for 10 min in warm transmission oil (50 °C to 70 °C).

Install inner plates (6) and outer plates (5).

Pay attention to the sequence of external plates (5) and internal plates (6).
The oil grooves (B) of the inner plates (6) must line up.
The notches (C) of the inner plates (6) must line up.

Install washer (7).

The ground side of washer (7) must point towards the internally toothed plates (6). The washer (7) is thicker than the externally toothed plates (5).

install circlip (8).

14

Install countershaft brake (VGW-B).
