Disconnect electrical connection for left switchable engine mount (Y123) at connecting point and detach electrical line

 The electrical connection and the electrical line of the left switchable engine mount (Y123) are fastened to the heat shield of the longitudinal member.

Disconnect electrical connection for right switchable engine mount (Y1231) at connecting point and detach electrical line

 The electrical connection and the electrical line of the right switchable engine mount (Y1231) are fastened to the heat shield of the longitudinal member.

Remove center and rear engine compartment paneling

Unscrew nut (5) of the elastomer bearing (6)

 Nut, mounting bracket to bracket

Detach clamp (7) from catalytic converter diesel particulate filter unit (2) at SCR catalytic converter (8)

 Installation: Align components of the exhaust system before tightening the bolted connection of the clamp (7) free of tension.

 Installation: Replace sealing ring between catalytic converter diesel particulate filter unit (2) and SCR catalytic converter (8).

 Pay attention to installation position of clamp (7).

Mount engine hoist and raise engine until the left and right switchable engine mount (Y123, Y123/1) are not under tensile stress

Remove screw/bolt (10) for left switchable engine mount (Y123) from engine support (11)

 The left switchable engine mount (Y123) remains on the front axle carrier (3).

Raise engine further


Ensure when lifting the engine that no cable and lines touch the firewall.
Damage can occur to cables and lines otherwise.

Remove screw/bolt (10) for right switchable engine mount (Y123/1) from engine support (11)

Remove right switchable engine mount (Y123/1) to the rear

 Installation: Check for a correct installation position.

 Always replace the switchable engine mount on the left and right (Y123, Y123/1) in pairs.

 Observe environmental protection regulations for disposal of the switchable engine mount (Y123, Y123/1). Dispose of left and right switchable engine mount (Y123, Y123/1) in the mixed scrap.

Remove screw/bolts (12) and take out left and right engine support (11)

Installation: First mount the screw/bolt (10) for the left and right switchable engine mount (Y123, Y123/1) in the left or right engine support (11) then mount the left or right engine support (11) on the crankcase.
