Remove/install

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2  m).

Remove air duct segment (2) together with air ducts (3).

 Installation: Check expansion rivets for damage.

If damage is present:



replace damaged expansion rivets.

Remove upper engine cover (4).

Remove electrical wiring harness (5) from the fan unit (1).

 Installation: Check retaining clamps of the electrical wiring harness (5) for damage.

If damage is present:



replace retaining clamp.

Disconnect electrical connection (6).

Remove screw (7).

Release fan unit (1) and remove cooler mounts upward.


Carefully remove fan unit (1).
Damage may occur otherwise.

Insert cooler guard plate.

If further activities are performed.



Install in the reverse order.



Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
