1 | Turn-off the master switch, or disconnect the negative lead. | Remove cable bolt on the side rail, avoiding disconnection at the poles. | |
2 | Tilting the engine hood. | ||
3 | Remove the radiator. | On engines with after-cooler, remove them together with the radiator. | |
4 | Remove the drive bolts. | ||
5 | Unscrew the bolts of the supports (6, 7, 8 e 9) and remove the shroud (6). | Valid only for 6-cylinder engines (OM 447). | |
Installing: Install the shroud centering the fan. | |||
Fastening of the right side support of the block (together with the radiator support) (9). | |||

Fastening of the support above the thermostat housing (6). | |||

Fastening of the bottom support to the oil pan (8). | |||

Fastening of the support, left side of the block (7). | |||

6 | Unscrew and remove the nuts (3) from the intermediate flange (4). | | |
7 | Remove the hydrostatic fan (1) | After removal, the hydrostatic fan has to remain in vertical position. Remaining in horizontal position for a long time may cause fan damage. | |
8 | Install in reverse order. |
