	Remove and install
Danger!	Risk of personal and material damage when cranking the engine with the gearbox engaged in gear. Risk of personal damage when carrying out jobs with the engine heated-up and running.	Be sure the gearbox is in neutral. Wear appropriate clothing and pay attention to engine moving and heated-up parts.	AS00.00-B-0005-01A
1	Turn-off the master switch, or detach the battery negative lead.	Loosen the lead bolt on the side rail avoiding loosening the poles.
2	Tilting the engine hood.	On vehicles with chassis: 386.0; 386.3; 388.0.	AR88.40-B-1000A
3	Open the engine rear cover.	On vehicles (buses): 664.0; 664.1; 664.2.
4	Loosen the fastening bolt (5) .		*BA15.40-B-1002-01K
5	Turn the setting nut (6) slackening the belts (4) until enabling their removal.	 Clean the pulleys eliminating eventual corrosion spots.
		 There are alternators that have a jam-nut over the set nut (6).
		When removing the belt check for utilization condition, if necessary replace it.
		Twin drive belts are to be replaced in pairs.
		 Tension and deflection obtained with the measuring device.	*BE13.21-B-1001-01A

6	Slacken the nut (1a) and the jam-nut (1), and turn the nut (2) slackening the belts (3) until enabling their removal.	On vehicles (buses): 664.0; 664.1; 664.2.
		 Clean the pulleys eliminating eventual corrosion spots.
		When removing the belt check for utilization condition, if necessary replace it.
		Twin drive belts are to be replaced in pairs.
		 Tension and deflection obtained with the measuring device.	*BE13.21-B-1002-01A

7	Install in reverse order.
