 Warning

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove/install

Drain off coolant

Remove toothed belt (1)

Remove V-belt cover on the engine side

 Bolt securing toothed belt cover

Remove lower screw/bolt (20v) for coolant pump (20)

 The lower screw/bolt (20v) serves as a coolant drain plug for the crankcase. Collect escaping coolant using suitable vessel.

Remove screw/bolts (20s) and remove coolant pump (20) from crankcase (01)

 The coolant pump (20) and seal (20D) must be replaced after every disassembly.

Clean

Clean sealing surfaces on crankcase (01)

Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray

Install in the reverse order



Check engine cooling system for leak tightness
