Remove/install

 Danger!

Wear safety gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.

Bring engine to operating temperature (approx. 80°C)

Only remove glow plugs when cylinder head has reached operating temperature.

Turn off engine

Remove rail

Unplug electrical connector (2) at glow plugs (R9)

 Pliers.

Unscrew glow plugs (R9)

 Only unscrew glow plugs (R9) when the cylinder head has reached operating temperature. Warm up removed cylinder head to about 90°C.

 If the hexagon breaks off or the glow plugs (R9) cannot be unscrewed see:



Redrill broken glow plugs.

Clean glow plug recess

Install in the reverse order

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
