 Warning

Risk of burn injuries, suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust.

Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area.

Remove

Remove air intake line upstream of exhaust gas turbocharger.

Release and disconnect electrical connectors (2).

Remove screws (3).

Remove low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation actuator (Y27/7).



Clean

5

Clean sealing surface on the low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation cooler.

Seal connection at low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation cooler with protective cover.

Remove sealing ring from low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation actuator (Y27/7).

If low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation actuator (Y27/7) is reused.

Remove low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation temperature sensor (B157/2).

If low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation actuator (Y27/7) is replaced.



Clean

Clean sealing surface on the housing of low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation actuator (Y27/7).

If low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation actuator (Y27/7) is reused.

Install

Screw in low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation temperature sensor (B157/2).

If the low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation actuator (Y27/7) has been replaced.

 Temperature sensor to low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation valve

Attach sealing ring to low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation actuator (Y27/7).

 Replace sealing ring.

Remove protective cover from connection at low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation cooler.

Install low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation actuator (Y27/7).

Screw in screws (3).

 Pay attention to different lengths of screws.

 Bolt, low pressure exhaust gas recirculation valve to low pressure exhaust gas recirculation cooler

Connect electrical connectors (2) and lock.

Install air intake line upstream of exhaust gas turbocharger.

 Only install upper engine cover after the leak test.



Check

Read out and delete fault memory.

If the low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation actuator (Y27/7) has been replaced.



Carry out teach-in process of low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation actuator (Y27/7) with the diagnostic system.

If the low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation actuator (Y27/7) has been replaced.

Perform engine test run and check engine for leak tightness and function.
