Remove/install

Open the engine compartment

 The access to perform maintenance and repair works varies according to the manufacturer and the body type.

Remove the cylinder head cover

Remove the rocker mechanism

Remove the exhaust camshaft (1)

 Also check bearing shells of the intake camshaft (2) by means of a visual inspection for wear, furrows or scratches.

If there is a visible or excessive wear, as well as, furrows or scratches:



Replace the bearing shells of the camshafts.

Remove the adjustment screws (3) from the respective engine brake unit (4)

 Screw of the engine braking hydraulic unit on cylinder head

Remove the engine brake unit (4)

 Installation: Check the engine brake unit (4) for damages and wear; if necessary, replace it.

Remove the seal ring (5) from the engine brake unit (4)

 Installation: Replace the sealing ring (5).

Install on the reverse order
