Removing

Remove engine cover

Remove upper radiator crossmember

 Fan cowl remains in the vehicle

Remove engine charge air channel upstream of charge air cooler

Loosen poly-V belt (1) and remove

 To relieve the tension at the poly-V belt (1), turn the tensioning device (2) towards "SLACKEN".



Checking

Inspect belt pulley sections and tensioning device (2) for damage and dirt

 Installation: In the event of damage to belt pulley or tensioning device (2), these must be replaced.

Check poly-V belt (1)

 Installation: In the event of wear and tear or damage, poly-V belt (1) must be replaced.



Check visible area of poly-V belt for wear

Install

Fit on poly-V belt (1)

 In order to attach the poly-V belt (1), turn the tensioning device (2) must towards "SLACKEN".

 Do not use belt wax or any similar products.

 When fitting the poly-V belt (1), the routing diagram must be observed, see:


