Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

Remove charge air hose upstream of charge air cooler (1) at charge air cooler (2)

 Ensure that dirt particles to not fall into charge air system to prevent engine damage.

Open and close coupling

 Installation: On engine 642.9 observe installation position of clamp (4). Check clamp (4), replace if necessary.

Remove charge air hose upstream of charge air cooler (1) from engine charge air duct upstream of charge air cooler

 Ensure that dirt particles to not fall into charge air system to prevent engine damage.

 Installation: To avoid leaks at engine, check sealing rings and catch springs for damage; clean connecting points thoroughly but do not grease; and make sure that catch springs are seated properly.

Install in the reverse order



Checking

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it moving off. Wear closed and close-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
