Remove trim panels (1) of cylinder head cover

Separate electrical connector at hot film mass air flow sensor (B2/5)

Separate electrical connector at intake air temperature sensor (B17)

Detach air intake pipe (2) at hot film mass air flow sensor (B2/5)

Inspect hose clamp for damage; replace if necessary.

Release intake hose (3) at air filter housing (4) and detach

Lift air filter housing (4) at the front and pull upward out of the brackets

Check front rubber bushing (5a) for wear and replace if necessary.

Installation: Apply lubricant to front rubber mounts (5).

Pull air filter housing (4) out of rear rubber mount (6) in direction of travel

Check rear rubber mount (6) for wear and replace if required.

Installation: Apply lubricant to rear rubber mounts (6).

Detach hot film mass air flow sensor (B2/5) from air filter housing (4)

If a new air filter housing is being installed
