Remove/install

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).

Remove air intake pipe (1) upstream of air filter housing (10).

Release and disconnect electrical connector (4) from hot film mass air flow sensor (B2/5).

Unclip brackets (5a, 5b) from air filter housing (10).

Remove screw (2) of glow output stage (N14/2) and place glow output stage (N14/2) to one side with connected lines.

Do not crush or kink or subject lines to tension.
This would lead to damage to the lines and can impair their function.

Unclip bracket (6) from air filter housing (10).

Remove screws (7) from air filter housing (10) and place CDI control unit (N3/9) to one side with connected lines.

Release hose clamp (9).

Release engine air intake duct downstream of air filter from the air filter housing (10).

Release air filter housing (10) at the bottom out of the rubber holder (arrow A), pull the retaining pins toward the front out of the brackets (11), and remove the air filter housing (10).

 Installation: Check rubber bracket (arrow A); replace if necessary.
Coat rubber bracket (arrow A) with suitable grease.

Remove hot film mass air flow sensor (B2/5) from air filter housing (10).

When replacing air filter housing (10).
