Remove/install

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).

Remove the engine air intake duct downstream of the air filter on the air filter housing (1).

Unclip the air intake pipe (2) on the radiator crossmember (arrow A) and remove from the air filter housing (1).

Unclip the electrical wiring harnesses (6) on the air filter housing (1).

Remove the ME control unit (N3/10) and, with the lines still connected, place to one side.


Do not crush or kink or subject lines to tension.
This would lead to damage to the lines and can impair their function.

Pull the air filter housing (1) upward out of the attachment rubber(3) and then remove by moving it forward out of the rubber guides (4).

 Installation: Prior to installation, wet the attachment rubber (3) and rubber guides (4) with lubricant.

Unscrew the bolts (5) and separate the top section of the air filter housing (1a) from the bottom section of the air filter housing (1b).

If the air filter housing (1) is replaced.

Remove the air filter insert from the bottom section of the air filter housing (1b).

If the air filter housing (1) is replaced.

Inspect the rubber guides (4) and attachment rubber (3) for wear and damage; replace if necessary.

Install in the reverse order.
