1 Remove cover (1) on engine.

2 Remove lower bolt from gearshift bracket on cylinder head.

 Only for vehicles with code (GS3) "hydraulic" gearshift or code (GS1) "mechanical" gearshift.

3 Disconnect connector for electrical engine wiring harness (2) and remove fuel temperature sensor (B10).

 Collect escaping fuel.

4 Install  adapter piece (6.5) together with sealing ring at crankcase.

5  Install banjo union (6.4),  high pressure hose (4) and  testing unit (3) at  adapter (6.5).

6 Remove fuel return line (7) on fuel filter (8) connection "RL" and close off using a  plug (6.3).

7 Remove fuel feed line (5) on the fuel filter (8) connection "VL" and attach  connection line (6.2) with  the compressed air filling line with a shutoff valve (6.1).

8 Remove fuel line for FLA on fuel filter (8) and close off bore.

 Only for vehicles with code (M89) Flame starting system (FLA) Collect escaping fuel.

9 Fill low pressure fuel circuit in the engine with compressed air at the  compressed air-filling line with shutoff valve () and close the shutoff valve (6.1).

 Pay attention to the given test pressure.

10 After the given test period, read off the pressure displayed on the  testing unit (3) and compare with test values "pressure drop in the low pressure fuel circuit".

11 Release compressed air at the  compressed air-filling line with shutoff valve (6.1).

12  Remove adapter (6.5),  high-pressure hose (4),  test equipment (3) and  compressed air-filling line with shutoff valve (6.1).

 Collect escaping fuel.

13 Attach fuel return line (7) and fuel feed line (5)  .

14 Attach fuel line for the FLA with new sealing ring on the fuel filter (8) .

 Only for vehicles with code (M89) Flame starting system (FLA)

15 Install fuel temperature sensor (B10) and attach connector for the electrical engine wiring harness (2).

 Install new sealing rings.

16 Tighten lower bolt from gearshift bracket on cylinder head.

 Only for vehicles with code (GS3) "hydraulic" gearshift or code (GS1) "mechanical" gearshift.

17 Install cover (1).
