1 | Remove interior flap above engine | ||

Risk of injury caused by burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries | No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and safety glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. | |
2 | Disconnect battery | ||
3 | Remove fuel heat exchanger | The fuel lines must not be detached. | |
4 | Separate electrical connector of vehicle wiring harness (2) at MR/PLD control unit (A6) | Unlock electrical connector by pressing the lock. Installation: use lock to fasten electrical connector in place. | |
5 | Separate electrical connector of engine wiring harness (1) at MR/PLD control unit (A6) | Unlock electrical connector by swiveling the lock. Installation: swivel lock to fasten electrical connector in place. | |
6 | Unscrew bolts (3) and take off MR/PLD control unit (A6) together with rubber shock absorber (4) and ground clamp (5) | Installation: If the MR/PLD control unit has been replaced, then enter a new data record in the MR/PLD control unit using the diagnostic tool if required. | |
7 | Install in reverse order |
