 Warning

Remove/install

Remove upper engine cover.

 Installation: Only install upper engine cover after the leak test.

Remove the heat shield above the exhaus gas turbocharger.

 Nut, heat shield to exhaust gas turbocharger

Unclip the electrical lines from the brackets (arrow A, B).

Release and disconnect electrical connector (2).

Remove the oxygen sensor downstream of the catalytic converter (G3/1) and seal the threaded hole in the catalytic converter using a suitable stop plug.

 Installation: Coat the thread of the oxygen sensor downstream of the catalytic converter (G3/1) with heat-resistant lubricant.

Cover the tip of the oxygen sensor downstream of the catalytic converter (G3/1) with a protective cover.

If the oxygen sensor downstream of the catalytic converter (G3/1) is reused.

Install in the reverse order.

Read out and delete fault memory.
