Differential pressure sensor (DPF)

Risk of injury caused by fingers being jammed or pinched when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof.

No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area when the components are moving.

Remove/install

Remove bottom section of soundproofing

ENGINE 607 in MODEL 117, 176, 246

Remove cylinder head cover trim

Loosen clamps (2)


Only clamps (2) for molded hoses may be loosened at the pressure lines of the diesel particulate filter.
Loosening hose clamps on the DPF differential pressure sensor (B28/8) can cause hairline cracks to form at the DPF differential pressure sensor (B28/8) as well as malfunctioning.

Disconnect electrical line (1) at differential pressure sensor (DPF) (B28/8)

Unscrew nut (3) on DPF differential pressure sensor (B28/8)

Remove DPF differential pressure sensor (B28/8) from bracket (4)

Remove DPF pressure differential sensor (B28/8) with attached molded hoses

 To do this carefully detach the molded hoses from the pressure lines on diesel particulate filter.

Install in the reverse order

Connect diagnostic system; read out fault memory.


