Release and disconnect electrical connections on fuel injectors (17) of right rail (1)

Unlock electrical connections at ignition coils of right cylinder bank, separate and unclip electrical lines from right rail (1)

Remove screw/bolts (1s) by turning each one through half a turn

Remove hold-down tools (3)

Mark fuel injectors (17) relative to respective cylinder

Detach right rail (1) from fuel injectors (17)

Remove fuel injectors (17) at right cylinder bank

 Engine oil which comes out during disassembly of the right rail (1) or from the fuel injectors (17) is safe. The right rail (1) and fuel injectors (17) can be re-used.

In the case of jammed fuel injectors (17) on the right rail (1)



Remove fuel injectors (17) of the right rail(1).

Clean fuel connections on fuel injectors (17)


During cleaning the fuel connections must be held downwards.
Otherwise dirt will finds its way into the openings and lead to damage.

Check fuel injectors (17) for right cylinder bank for external damage

If damaged



Replace fuel injectors (17).

Read off the injector quantity compensation (IMA) coding on fuel injectors (17) and take a note of it

For installation of new fuel injectors (17).

Slide fuel injectors (17) into right rail (1) and fasten in place using the hold-down tools (3)

 When reusing the fuel injectors (17), observe markings.

 Fuel injectors (17) of the right rail (1) may only be installed again in combination with the right rail (1) (as a unit).

 Replace hold-down tool (3).

Position right rail (1) with fuel injectors (17) in right cylinder head

Screw in screw/bolts (1s) alternately each by half a revolution
