Remove/install

 Danger!

Risk of explosion caused by fuel igniting. Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by fuel spraying out at high pressure.

Keep all ignition sources out of hazard area.

Do not carry out any work on systems when they are under pressure

Notes about common rail components

Remove engine cover (1)

Unplug connector (2) from quantity control valve (Y94)

Remove bolts (3)



Remove quantity control valve (Y94)

 Do not pry out quantity control valve (Y94) with a tool and do not tilt to prevent damage to housing flange and to the quantity control valve (Y94) itself.

 Pull quantity control valve (Y94) out of housing flange by hand using rotary movements.

 Collect exuded fuel with an absorbent rag.

 Installation: Grease O-ring (4) lightly with special grease.

Clean

Clean flange hole and sealing surface of housing flange

 Remove any particles of varnish or dirt, especially around from the flange bore to guarantee smooth and trouble-free function.

Clean fuel filter (5)

Install in the reverse order

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Check fuel system for leaks with engine running

Read fault memory, erase if necessary



Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory
