The testing and recognition of the exhaust emission characteristics of motor vehicles in service (exhaust emission test) is stipulated in paragraphs 47 a and 47 b as well as in Appendix VII a of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS).
Exhaust emissions have been checked in the Federal Republic of Germany since 01.04.1985. Details of which vehicles are subject to an exhaust emission test are summarized in the test procedure overview.
For the repair order the operation numbers should always be obtained from the "Operation texts and work units" and "Standard texts and flat rates" microfilm.
