Remove upper engine cover

Detach screw/bolts (5) or nuts of return line (20) and place return line (20) to one side

Engine 133 in model 117, 156, 176

Do not disconnect return line (20).

Remove screw/bolts (1) and detach intake camshaft solenoid (Y49/1) or exhaust camshaft solenoid (Y49/2) from front cover (2)

Notes on threaded connections with aluminum screws/bolts

Installation: Replace sealing rings and screw/bolts (1).

Disconnect electrical connection on intake camshaft solenoid (Y49/1) or exhaust camshaft solenoid (Y49/2)

Install in the reverse order

Check oil level of the engine and correct if necessary

Read out fault memory using the diagnostic system and clear if necessary
