Remove

Disconnect ground line from the starter battery (G1).

Remove top toothed belt cover.

Remove screws (5) and remove engine carrier (7).

Remove liquid-cooled charge air cooler from the brackets and place to one side.

Unclip electric line (12) from bracket (9).

Remove screw (10).

Unscrew nut (11) and remove bracket (9) from stud bolt.

Remove cover screw (6) from crankcase.



Check

9

Turn engine on belt pulley of the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation until the guide in the camshaft sprocket (2) and the bore (3) in the cylinder head (1) are opposite each other.

Screw drift into bore for cover screw (6).

Turn engine on belt pulley in the direction of engine rotation until the crankshaft lies on the drift.


Turn engine slowly without jerky motions.
Otherwise damage will occur.

Block camshaft in the basic position with drift (4).

 The basic position of the camshaft is reached if the drift (4) can be inserted in the guide in the camshaft sprocket (2) and in the bore (3) in the cylinder head (1) without applying much force.

Set basic position of the camshaft.

Remove drift (4).

Remove drift from the bore for the cover screw (6).

Install

Screw cover screw (6) into crankcase.

Slide bracket (9) onto stud bolt.

Tighten screws (10).

Tighten nut (11).

Clip electric line (12) into bracket (9).

Attach liquid-cooled charge air cooler.

Position engine carrier (7) and tighten screws (5).
