Remove/install

Remove camshafts.

Remove roller cam follower (3) with the associated compensating elements (1).

Lever off the clamps (2).

Detach compensating elements (1) from roller-type cam followers (3).

Check

Check compensating elements (1) for proper operation.


Only push compensating element (1) together by hand, do not use a steel tool.
Otherwise the surface of the compensating element (1) will be damaged.

It should not be possible to press the compensating elements (1) together with normal force of the hand and they should move together only very slowly when great pressure is applied.

If there is a problem,

replace the compensating element (1).

If several compensating elements (1) are defective,

Check forced oil supply of cylinder head.
