Release tension on poly-V belt for fan (1) and take it off from tensioner pulley for poly-V belt tensioning device for fan (7)

 Installation: Inspect condition of poly-V belt of fan (1), replace if necessary.

Release tension on poly-V belt of alternator (4) and take it off from the belt pulley of the alternator and the guide pulley (9)

 Installation: Inspect condition of poly-V belt of alternator (4), replace if necessary.

Loosen the bolts (arrows) at the bracket (8) for fan drive

 Do not unscrew bolts (arrows).



Press fan wheel with bracket (8) upwards in direction of the engine and attach with cable tie to the front lifting eye on the engine

Remove soundproofing on frame below

Detach oil filler line at oil pan and fan surround

Remove cover (2) for belt pulley on fan drive (3)

Attach rotating device to timing case

Block flywheel using turning device

Detach belt pulley for fan drive (3) from belt pulley/vibration damper (5)



Take off belt pulley / vibration damper (5)



Check belt pulley/vibration damper (5) and all belt pulleys, tensioner pulleys and guide pulleys for driven component for damage and concentricity; replace if necessary

Remove slinger (6)

 Installation: Installation position must be observed. The slinger (6) must be installed with the flat side towards belt pulley/vibration damper (5).

Install in the reverse order
