Remove pulse ring (2)

Clean crankcase (3) and oil pan (4) in area of the end cover (5)

Remove screw/bolts (5a)

Unfasten end cover (5) with radial shaft sealing ring (6) from crankcase (3) and remove


Do not pound in any tool between the end cover (5) and crankcase (3) to pry them apart.
Otherwise, the sealing surfaces will be damaged.

 Fit tool for prying off onto side notch clearances of the end cover (5). Heat up sealant with a heat gun if necessary.



Clean

Clean sealing surfaces for end cover (5)

Do not use any sharp-edged tools or abrasive paper.
The sealing surfaces can be damaged otherwise.

 Installation: It is essential to observe information concerning applying sealant and the correct installation position of sealing lips of the radial shaft sealing ring (6).

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
