Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove

Remove pulse ring (2)

Remove crankshaft position sensor

 Do not disconnect electrical connector.



Clean

Clean crankcase (3) and oil pan top section (4) in area of the end cover (5)

Assembly cleaner

Remove screw/bolts (5a)

Remove end cover (5) with radial shaft sealing ring (6) from crankcase (3)



Do not pound in any tool between the end cover (5) and crankcase (3) to remove.
The sealing surfaces can get damaged otherwise.

 Fit tool for removing at the side notch clearances of the end cover (5). Warm up sealant as required.
